Privacy Policy

The operators of this website take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data as confidential and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy.

The use of our website is generally possible without providing personal data. If we ask for personal data (e.g., name, address, phone number or email addresses), this happens always on voluntary base, if possible. Information is considered personal if it can be associated exclusively to a specific natural person. The legal framework for data protection may be found in the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the Telemedia Act (TMG). These data are never passed to third parties without your explicit approval and are used by us only for internal purposes. This privacy policy applies regardless of the domains, systems, platforms, and devices (eg, desktop or mobile) used to run our online offering.

Please note that data transmitted via the internet (e.g. via email communication) may be subject to security breaches. Complete protection of your data from third-party access is not possible.

Responsible party

The party responsible for processing data on this website is:

Verein Pan Terra, Platz 230, 9428 Walzenhausen, Switzerland

You can find contact options in our legal notice.

SSL or TLS Encryption

This site uses SSL or TLS encryption for security reasons and for the protection of the transmission of confidential content, such as the inquiries you send to us as the site operator. You can recognize an encrypted connection in your browser’s address line when it changes from “http://” to “https://” and the lock icon is displayed in your browser’s address bar. If SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data you transfer to us cannot be read by third parties.

Collection and use of personal data

Your data may be collected by informing us about it, for example, if you enter your information in a contact form and send it to us or when you subscribe to our newsletter. Other data is automatically collected through our technical systems when visiting our website. These are above all technical data (e.g. internet browser, operating system or time of the page visit). The collection of this data happens automatically as soon as you enter our website.

Part of the data is collected to ensure an accurate and optimized operation of the website. Other data can be used to analyze your user behaviour.

We only transfer users’ data to third parties if this is necessary for billing purposes (e.g. to a payment service provider) or for other purposes if they are necessary to fulfill our contractual obligations towards the users (e.g. address notification to suppliers).

Right to information, cancellation, blocking

You have the right, upon request, to obtain free information about the personal data that has been stored about you. In addition, you have the right to correct incorrect data, blocking and deletion of your personal data, as far as there is no legal obligation to keep records.

Revocation of your consent to data processing

Many data processing operations are only possible with your express consent. You may revoke your consent at any time with future effect. An informal email making this request is sufficient. The data processed before we receive your request may still be legally processed.

Right to data transfer

You have the right to have handed out data that we process on the basis of your consent or in fulfillment of a contract, to yourself or to a third party in a standard, machine-readable format. If you require the direct transfer of data to another person in charge, this will only be done to the extent technically feasible.

Contacting us

When contacting us (for example via contact form or email), the details of the user are stored in order to process the request as well as in the event that follow-up questions arise. Personal data will be deleted if they have fulfilled their purpose and deletion does not conflict with any retention requirements.

Collecting of server data

We or our hosting provider collect data on the basis of our legitimate interests on every access to the server on which this service is located (so-called server log files). The access data includes name of the retrieved web page, file, date and time of retrieval, amount of data transferred, message about successful retrieval, browser type and version, the user’s operating system, referrer URL (previously visited page), IP address and the requesting one provider. The basis for data processing is Art. 6 (1) (b) DSGVO, which allows the processing of data to fulfill a contract or for measures preliminary to a contract.

We use the log data without assignment to the person of the user or other profiling according to the statutory provisions only for statistical evaluations for the purpose of operation, security and optimization of our online offer. However, we reserve the right to retrospectively check the log data if, on the basis of concrete evidence, the legitimate suspicion of unlawful use exists.

Cookies

Our web pages use so-called cookies. Cookies do not harm your computer and do not contain any viruses. Cookies help make our website more user-friendly, efficient, and secure. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser.
Most of the cookies we use are so-called “session cookies.” They are automatically deleted after your visit. Other cookies remain in your device’s memory until you delete them. These cookies make it possible to recognize your browser when you next visit the site.

You can configure your browser to inform you about the use of cookies so that you can decide on a case-by-case basis whether to accept or reject a cookie. Alternatively, your browser can be configured to automatically accept cookies under certain conditions or to always reject them, or to automatically delete cookies when closing your browser. Disabling cookies may limit the functionality of this website.

Cookies which are necessary to allow electronic communications or to provide certain functions you wish to use (such as the shopping cart) are stored pursuant to Art. 6 paragraph 1, letter f of DSGVO. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the storage of cookies to ensure an optimized service provided free of technical errors. If other cookies (such as those used to analyze your surfing behavior) are also stored, they will be treated separately in this privacy policy.

Newsletter

You can subscribe to our newsletter on our website, where we inform you at irregular intervals about our work, projects, events or other news.

Our newsletter can only be received by you if you have a valid e-mail address and register for the newsletter. Further data are not collected or only on a voluntary basis. For legal reasons, a confirmation email will be sent to your email address entered for the first time for the newsletter, using the double-opt-in procedure. This confirmation email is used to check whether the owner of the email address has authorized the receipt of the newsletter.

The processing of the data entered into the newsletter registration form takes place exclusively on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 (1) a DSGVO). This data will only be used to send our newsletter or information relevant to the sending of the newsletter and we will not share this information with third parties.

When registering for the newsletter, we also store the IP address of your device used at the time of registration as well as the date and time of registration by the Internet Service Provider (ISP). The collection of this data is necessary in order to be able to understand the (possible) misuse of your email address at a later date and therefore provides the legal safeguards for the controller.

You may revoke your consent to the storage of data, the email address and its use for sending the newsletter at any time. The revocation can be made via a link in the newsletters themselves, in your profile area or by notification to the above contact options. The legality of the already completed data processing operations remains unaffected by the revocation.

The data provided from you to us for the purpose of obtaining the newsletter will be saved by us until your cancellation from the newsletter and will be deleted afterwards. Data stored for other purposes with us remain unaffected.

Our newsletters contain tracking URLs, which allow us to detect if a newsletter has been opened and if links in the newsletter have been clicked.

Integration of services and contents of third parties

It may happen that contents or services of third party providers, such as maps or fonts from other websites, are included in our online offer. The inclusion of content from third party providers always requires that the third party providers perceive the IP address of the users, since they could not send the content to the users’ browser without the IP address. The IP address is therefore required for the presentation of this content. In addition, providers of third party content can set their own cookies and process users’ data for their own purposes. In the process, user profiles can be created from the processed data. We will use this content as much as possible in a data-saving and data-avoiding manner and will select reliable third party providers with regard to data security.

Data transfer to the USA and other third party countries

Among other things, we use tools from companies based in the USA or other third party countries that are not secure under data protection law. If these tools are active, your personal data may be transferred to these third party countries and processed there. We would like to point out that in these countries no level of data protection comparable to the one in the EU can be guaranteed. For example, US companies are obliged to hand over personal data to security authorities without you as a data subject being able to take legal action against this. It can therefore not be ruled out that US authorities (e.g. intelligence services) process, evaluate and permanently store your data located on US servers for monitoring purposes. We have no influence on these processing activities.

YouTube

On our website we use components (videos) of YouTube, LLC 901 Cherry Ave., 94066 San Bruno, CA, USA, a company belonging to Google Inc., Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.
When you display a page that has an embedded video, a connection will be made to the YouTube server and the content will appear on the website via a communication to your browser. During that process it tells the YouTube server which of our pages you’ve visited.
If you are logged onto YouTube at the same time, this information will be matched to your YouTube member account. You can prevent this from happening by logging out of your member account before visiting our website.
The use of YouTube is in the interest of an attractive presentation of our online offers. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 (1) lit. f DSGVO.
Further information about data protection by YouTube is provided by Google under the following link: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/

Google Web Fonts

For uniform representation of fonts, this page uses web fonts provided by Google. When you open a page, your browser loads the required web fonts into your browser cache to display texts and fonts correctly.
When you call up a page of our website that contains a social plugin, your browser makes a direct connection with Google servers. Google thus becomes aware that our web page was accessed via your IP address. The use of Google Web fonts is done in the interest of a uniform and attractive presentation of our website. This constitutes a justified interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) DSGVO.
If your browser does not support web fonts, a standard font is used by your computer.
Further information about handling user data, can be found at https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and in Google’s privacy policy at https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/.

PayPal

On our website we offer the possibility to donate via PayPal. Provider of this payment service is PayPal (Europe) S.à.r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., 22-24 Boulevard Royal, L-2449 Luxembourg.
If you select donation via PayPal, the payment details you enter will be transmitted to PayPal.

The transmission of your data to PayPal is based on Art. 6 (1) lit. a DSGVO (consent) and Art. 6 (1) lit. b DSGVO (processing to fulfill a contract). You have the option to revoke your consent to data processing at any time. Revocation does not affect the effectiveness of historical data processing operations.

Contradiction against advertising mails

We expressly contradict the use of contact data published on this website by third parties in order to send not expressly requested advertisement and information.
